I love the video where an H1B Visa holder is found working in a 7-11. The fraud in this country is everywhere. We will eventually need a second Revolution, or we'll quietly roll over and let the US become the third world.
An exceedingly important point is the admission that certain XBOX teams worked under as many as FOURTEEN layers of management.
That is mind-bogglingly insane. It's no wonder these studios each burned through hundreds of millions of dollars with almost nothing to show for it.
It's why even mid level games take a decade or more to produce. It will be damn near twenty years between Skyrim and the next Elder Scrolls game.
Every single thing an actual "developer" wants to put into a game has to go through fourteen layers of approval. Who knows how long that takes and 100% of the time what comes out the other end looks nothing like what the developer proposed originally.
Games are being made in spite of this structure, not because of it.
Laughably, they're promising to reduce that managerial burden to "just" five layers. And the do-nothing, paycheck stealing XBOX employees are rioting over "skeleton crews."
While I feel sorry for H1-B since they have to find a new job or leave the country. Especially in game because average job seeking->hire time in the game industry is about a year. I think H1-Bs have 30 days to get a new sponsor or go home (but will probably overstay). But, this may be different if you're an Indian (dot, not feather). I've seen videos of a guy who had been searching for jobs for months without a callback or anything. He changed the name on his resume to something Indian and started getting responses. Maybe they thought he was an H1-B and they could low ball him so his visa wouldn't expire.
Dunno, but it seems fishy.
Anyway! American's should be the last to leave unless they have massive performance problems.
There is also the fact that this CEO is half Indian, and they take care of their own. Just like every company where a "minority" gets into hiring position they will tend to stick with their own race/gender/whatever rather than the skilled white man. Eventually, all the people on the hiring team will be replaced with someone the same race/gender/whatever by the original person in the hiring loop.
This is why there are so many Indian people in Tech, a ton of the big tech companies are run by Indians and they don't like Americans, and will almost always save their preference for their own race when it comes to nearly any aspect of life in the US.
Not only that, but they get preference in a ton of areas. Take housing, they're allowed to buy a house from 0-3% down. Don't have the 3%, no problem! There are programs the government runs which will PAY the down payment foreigners so they can get into a house. I heard this was a big problem in Huston and Dallas.
Technically the government Down Payment is not limited to ethnicity, but it sure seems like Indians get approved at a far higher rate than Americans.
And those Tech Companies are falling apart. Even though I suspect they're looting all the IPS and R &D to send back to India to give them the leg up advantage. Thats INDUSTRIAL SABOTAGE.
