This is by design. Somewhere along the line, the world's rich and powerful realized that strong, brave, independent, intelligent, competent men were a threat to overthrowing their rule and their "birthright" of luxury and decadence.

It's far easier to control weak, submissive, sickly, ignorant, distracted, broken men.

But beyond that, they still need a force of jackboot thugs to enforce their will and keep those broken men under their heel--hence the unchecked flooding of Western societies with violent, low IQ, unenlightened men born to a world of strongmen l

taking everything by force and liberty an alien concept.

Brutish men without the capacity to create or enjoy beauty, honor sacrifice, or envision a future beyond their next gratification. They only understand violence, f---ing, eating, and more violence.

Once you connect these two long-running trends of destroying Western Man and importing savages, you start to understand their plan.

Yep, all by design. And, before the great invasion, male society has been trained to accept all of this as "normal" and "they must know better than us, that's why they're in charge."

In the meantime masculinity has been neutered so natural responses to such things are suppressed either by said training or, more and more now, politically directed physical force for those few who haven't completely succumbed.

It’s bad drama… strong characters need strong antagonists… if you don’t provide them, both characters are diminished.

And that’s exactly what we are seeing and it’s the primary issue behind the charge of “Mary Sue-ism”

Feminist have invaded Hollywood and the writing rooms.

Let's take a look at a few strong men who they've turned into sissy-men.

Rand, Matt, and Perrin. Lan - Wheel of time.

Luke and Han - Star Wars

The whole male crew - Star Trek

It seems that since 2015 or so, Strong Male Characters are verboten. All Male characters have to be either Homer Simpson or Al Bundy.

Modern writers are borderline incompetent, so they are unable to write strong, competent male (or female) characters even if they wanted to. They don’t understand things like heroism at all. They can’t create a Ripley or Sarah Connor let alone male versions of heroes.

They want us dead!

It doesn't help that Hollywood has surrendered the writing room to mostly female and/or LGBT personnel.

In other news, while a jury can't decide that a woman murdering her three children is wrong, none of the issues faced by Men are given any oxygen or laughed about while women take a victory lap.

For example, men still kill themselves at an extraordinarily higher rate than women. Modern education has been twisted to deliberately prevent boys and men from optimal learning patterns. Dedicated men's gathering spaces are all but gone and emergency resources are usually reclaimed and repurposed for women or LGBT.

And that's not even the start. There's a very, very large iceberg waiting to crash into a Titanic filled with pent up "toxic masculinity". What we don't know is if the ship will sink with all hands or how many men will rise.

And then immediately get cut down, of course, cause that's how all the stories end today.

very well said!

Excellently said.

They seem to have backed off a bit lately, Superman is still heroic, as is Spider-Man.

Slowfatninjah's avatar

I wouldn't say either have been portrayed as particularly heroic, in the movies, at least.

Superman 2025 was more the "Lois, Krypto, and Mr. Terrific save the World" show while Supes got his ass kicked for the run of the movie.

I haven't seen the most recent spiderman movie (I hear good things but the Mark Ruffalo apple spoiled the barrel for me) but, at least till the recent installment, Spidey has been drug into almost every major set point of the plot. It sounds like he's much more proactive in the new movie but can't be purely heroic, he's got to be a "damaged" hero.

James Gunn killed Superman as far as I’m concerned 🤮

Anonymous Dude's avatar

How so? He's strong, brave, and heroic, even if the 'punkrocker' idea makes no sense.

by writing him to fail at everything right until the end:

Here’s every reason why Superman was the worst movie of 2025:

1- It STARTS WITH “3 minutes ago, Superman lost a battle for the first time.”

So why didn’t GUNN make the movie about one of the many times Superman was STRONG, CAPABLE, AND VICTORIOUS?

We didn’t need to see Superman defeated, wheezing and bloody - it’s just that James Gunn wanted to demean the white male hero.

2- Superman needs his dog to save him, and even THE DOG hurts him.

3- The Mexican catsuit lesbian is SUPER CRINGE.

4- The 9000 DIVERSITY cutaway shots.

5- Lex theatrically controlling THE HAMMER is stupid.

6- Superman defeated 2ND TIME just 9 minutes in.

7- Clark Kent verbally demeaned the first time we see him.

8- The Kents are buffoonish MAGA caricatures.

9- First thing Lois does is criticize Clark’s writing.

10- The Mexican catsuit lesbian grows chainsaw hands.

11- Superman needs help from The Justice Gang, instead of just being uber-powerful in his own movie.

12- Every time Superman saves someone, it’s a FEMALE diversity person.

13- Superman doesn’t defeat the kaiju, Mr. Terrific does.

14- The people turn on Superman after 30 years of him saving them.

15- Peacemaker cameo CRINGE!

16- DOJ face-plants Superman into the ground.

17- The Element Man becomes kryptonite, which is totally unnecessary because this is already the WEAKEST Superman in history.

18- Superman weak and defeated AGAIN, and deteriorating in the pocket universe.

19- Superman screaming.

20- Superman can’t get out of the quantum river, so Krypto has to save him AGAIN.

21- Superman weak, defeated and leaning on Lois.

22- Lois spontaneously knows how to fly a spaceship to get Superman to safety.

23- George Kent morbidly obese after a lifetime of working the land.

24- Lois knowing how to fly a spaceship again.

25- Mexican lesbian catsuit bitch suffocates Superman - and he doesn’t use his heat-ray vision to stop her.

26- Superman gets his ass kicked by clone Superman, and needs his dog to save him AGAIN.

27- The little diverse boy with the sign.

28- Superman gets his unbreakable arm broken.

Hadn't picked up on all this (though I'm pretty sure the Hollywood of 40 years ago would have engaged in cross-promotion and product placement). Thank you!
