It is somewhat fitting. Star Trek was pushing for progressivism since its creation and this is the end result of that. Roddenberry should've been alive to see where space socialism leads.

Gene was rather leftist himself. He'd likely be on board with this.

I'm not a paid member, and I'm not going to pay just to comment on a paid article -- especially when the "article" in question is just a scummy paid add that Fandom Pulse *NEVER* should have taken. I thought guys like Arroz and Trent were at least nominally Christian or at least in favor of fighting a good fight, but literal days after having an article from a men's fiction author about how garbage writing like "Trailer Park Elves" is destroying real fiction, they TAKE MONEY from the authors of that series.

From the top of the (paid access only) article giving a glowing review/interview of Trailer Park Elves:

"Fandom Pulse

Apr 05, 2025∙ Paid"

How can we take you seriously when you contradict yourselves, and your previously published work, so readily? I'm starting to think you all are a sham.

Then step away. Stop giving them eyeballs and air. No one is forcing you to read this.

This website had an article just a week ago or so about how this lowbrow "men's romance" stuff is making it nearly impossible for people to find actual, quality science fiction, since the garbage floats to the top on Amazon's algorithm. It was a real article, from a real author who's work was representative of those small time but sincere quality sci fi authors -- the exact sort of people del Arroz and Trent have been claiming to support.

And then they run a paid ad in the form of an interview article, for the exact same garbage they paid someone to decry. They didn't present it as a point/counterpoint; they just took money to let someone say the exact opposite of what this site is supposed to stand for. Doesn't that seem strange to you?

I didn't read that the authors paid for this article, just that the article you reference was one of the paid articles on the site. Most of the interviews with authors or creators fall under paid from what I've seen. Jon's got DM for the FP Substack. Ping him and let him know your concerns.
