There is a common belief in contemporary discourse that there exists a unified front against what is often labeled “wokeness.” This belief does not hold up to closer scrutiny.
I'll add a touch. People watch these compromises because they're funny. Laughter in movies and comedy (sitcoms) is a science as much as lighting (I was in H-wood over 50 years ago). Laugh-moments are specifically timed to a strict cadence to produce a constant start-stop stream of laughter.
Why? Laughter eases the brain. Laughter also eases ideas. So if gays become funny, we begin to see gays as happy and fun to be around because... everyone loves to laugh. Laughter is thus a tool to promote ideology not congenial to a society.
In the case of South Park and Theory of Evolution and other cartoons or sitcoms, ideas are wrapped in laughter to be unpacked later in the brain as sympathetic.
And people watch these to feel the levity in a world that has turned against them. When ever South Park has something anti-woke, the watcher no longer feels guilty or bad about laughing at something that would otherwise sicken him. "Hey, look everyone! South Park ripped the woke!" And it goes viral. Guilt assuaged. Relief that South Park has some anti-woke in it.
As you said, sort of like eating what the chef vomited in but claiming it's still good enough to eat. Spot on.
I stopped consuming the crap long ago. As responsible, moral people, we need to stop consuming this garbage. Another way to look at it is that every time you watch these for laughs, you're supporting the trafficking, rape, and murder of children. Seriously. Very seriously.
This is also why The Daily Show changed the landscape of news reporting from a serious delivery to a comical delivery. The dopamine hit of laughter reinforces mainstream lies as a eureka moment in the viewer. This is much stronger propaganda than the authoritative presentation of lies by a trusted authority figure because funny news uses the mechanism of discovery psychology, "It's true because I feel good when I think it."
Why, thank you, but my point is we're criticizing a show that's not meant to be serious and never was. Obviously, there could be stuff to question, but isn't this a bit of a stretch? It's like assuming Family Guy supports bestiality because of the breeding bull scene with Peter Griffin.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone said that, going back to their time in film school, they "couldn't wait to start selling out" in Hollywood. They have done exactly what they set out to do.

An uncomfortably large portion of people don’t want The Good, The True, The Beautiful; they don’t wish to do the same evils as the fake empire does, they just abhor Love, Absolute Truth, And Natural Law. these may hate the lies of the false empire but only because those lies are so intolerable that they have to wake up.
What weak man asleep in a stupor of rushing wind, deluded that he is flying, wants to smack against the floor and realizing he has been falling his whole life? What person that Aristotle called those who are imprisoned by “the life of pleasure” wants to realize he isn’t actually cattle but instead a Man who just acts like one? Baudelaire coined the grotesque term “modernity” to describe a world where the “elite” actively deny The Image Of God to turn common men into mechanical sex toys for bankers and analogues, but these are quite angry when they realize they are not machines after all. Once unplugged from the lie they start pantomiming the mooing and mechanical dances, hoping to go back, and there is no violence they will not commit once these villains realize they can’t.
Much effort is then made to try to make a parallel lie, to try to break the ground so they can fall off another cliff after they have hit bottom. All attempts to make new “gods” out of “supermen” in the looking glass because their old gods were revealed to be demons and they would sooner die than come to God. Just anything to avoid Reality.
As for the game, the same people who demand “equality” in real life are staunch defenders of an unworthy and corrupt hierarchy in a place they feel they can benefit from it. The same people who demand you give (or else) when they are poor are the same who are stingy when they are rich.
This isn’t a contradiction, those are just scoundrels doing what they always have done.
