Atheists like Philip Pullman are the filthy liars. If they were honest, they would be nihilists, but they don't have the courage of their self-professed convictions.
And they always, always, always, lie about Christianity.
That’s exactly it. Philip Pullman comes off as an Atheist, who has a problem with C.S. Lewis being a Christian. Remember the time Ridley Scott(also an admitted atheist), directed a Ten Commandments movie in 2014? How can I forget that?
They think it is better for children to be trapped on Earth for a whole meaningless (according to Atheism) adult life, and that because its what children want, well, naturally that's what's best for them and they should get it, of course. Who could want anything more than a long adult life with no purpose other than chasing dopamine hits? Certainly, a poignant self sacrifice or an early rescue from this miserable fallen world is not something an Atheist can imagine. How ironic--a fiction writer with no imagination.
Is it sad for children to die--yes, of course. But it is not sad for them, it is sad for everyone who loves them and wanted to share life on Earth with them and vicariously feel their innocent joy before (a blind, pitilessly indifferent) adult life drained it all away. It's unconscionably selfish to wish a long meaningless life on others. Pullman is the ghastly one here.
Philip Pullman, the author of books no one has ever heard of, explained why he hates C.S. Lewis: "People still read his books over 60 years after his death, and no one gives a rip about mine."
this demonic fellow's fixation on "teen sexuality" is possibly the only consistent part of his entire worldview. Don't need to even know his proclivities, We all know. his curses are CONSUMMATELY, COMPLETELY, TOTALLY Returned!
Even if I didn't disagree with everything else Pullman says, I would think one would hesitate to condemn an author who lived through two World Wars - on the front lines of the first one, even - over writing about a "ghastly end."
This guy is whining about the children never getting to grow up. Um...
Did he actually READ the books, or is he just raging mindlessly?
The Narnia kids lived a whole lifetime in Narnia as kings and queens. And they will live again in Narnia. The "real world" was temporary for them, Narnia permanent. That world needed them and it called them home. And they too needed Narnia and wanted to return.
It's important to remember that Susan rejected Narnia. There was a choice. Her "reward" was this imperfect, unpleasant, transient world rather than salvation.
Polly and Digory grown up and old. Still faithful Narnians.
Caspian grown up and married. Still faithful Narnian.
Colin and Cor and Aravis grown up and married, but not to each other. Still faithful ... Okay. Archenlanders.
And so on.
What retardery, that man gets up to.
The line Pullman and Mr. Tubblecuddle take about how icky it is that none of the Narnian kids have sex, or when grown, extramarital sex, is a bit suspect, now.

Not merely cowardice, but love of vice. Pullman's own series' came to a climax with its child leads having sex.
Christ gets in the way of following their own particular path to Hell, the which they cannot bear to give up.
This is so telling of the Atheist mindset.

They all tend to be perverts. Just like that neil gaiman fellow.
it’s their satanic religion.

Lewis fought honorably in the trenches of the 1st World War. Pullman is a poser.

Talk about missing the point.
He got the point.
He IS Susan.
He knows it.
Hence the gamma rage.
Susan is better than Pullman. She still had hope.
Once a Queen of Narnia...
No, Pullman despises that Susan, her crown forgotten, but not lost, is still more noble than his own cockeral crowing as the prince of the dungheap.
Peter, grown up. Edmund, grown up. Lucy, grown up. Still faithful Narnians.

They ALWAYS tell on themselves. It's so much of who they are they don't even conceive how abnormal and disgusting of a reflection they cast.
Pullman's criticisms of The Magician's Nephew ring especially hollow when you know that Lewis lost his own mother as a young boy.
