I don't think Disney is yet willing to admit it, but most people already understand the situation.

The fans are never coming back so long as the Disney logo is on the product. It's unsalvageable at this point.

The only possible thing to do is sell off the franchise. But media conglomeration has made it next to impossible to find a buyer that wouldn't just carry on the ruining.

Paramount? Look at Star Trek.

Warner Brothers? Black Snape.

Amazon? Rings of Power.

NBC Universal? SNL

Apple? Apple.

Netflix? Too many woke projects to even single one out.

It would pretty much have to be some eccentric billionaire dedicated to reviving it. Outside of George Lucas himself,whoi doesn't have the juice anymore, anyway, who would even invest that kind of money, time, and effort?

Yeah, that ground has been salted and burned.

I think at this point almost all legacy franchises are unsalvageable and the only reasonable course of action is to build something new.

Maybe Sony Pictures? They did very well with the Project Hail Mary Sci-Fi book adaptation and we'll get a Drew Goddard written Star Wars project with them as directors; I can only hope.

I think Sony Japan has been wresting back certain aspects of media control after Sony America soiled the brand. Last of Us 2 being a prime example, as, apparently, Sony is STILL furious with Naughty Dog and their own American offices for that one.

You dont understand. Its penny pinching penny squeezing. Make money by saving money (taxscams, insurance scams, money laundering, private pensionfunds, stockprive, networking with states, politicans and Governments [rub my back i rub yours etc].) They dont care about art or culture or entertainment. Its a means to an end (money by costcutting and power from rubbing backs or putting bribes into the politicans hands etc).

Its all about the executives getting rich whikst f king everyone else. The buyers of all this will be BIG TECH. Content is expensive to make. So Big Tech sell devices screens gadgets and subscriptions whilst hollywood bears the burden of producing content until hollywood overproduces overexpands and then collapses to be BROUGHT UP BY BIG TECH FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR.

WHY? COPYRIGHT HOLDERS. That stop AI from begining the next big thing until tbe copyright issues are resolved. Who owns the copyright to music and publishing and performances as well as film/tv copyright and performances needed to train and reproduce AI on? HOLLYWOOD.

OWN HOLLYWOOD AND ITS COPYRIGHT CHEAPLY BY MAKING HOLLYWOOD COLLAPSE FROM MASS OVERPRODUCTION. Penny pinching. Penny squeezing. Make money by saving money. The executives STILL get paid REGARDLESS. Why would they care when they stand to profit from the big sell off? Either way the executives make money even if nobody else does. GREED. PURE GREED.

Corporate Disney: they must present every disaster as a "win" - it's corporate strategy to make everything into victory so the shareholders keep voting in the idiots at the top.

They get their paybonus, taxbreaks, insurance scams, money laundering, private pension funds, stockmarket shares and networking with politicans or states or government for perks etc (rub my back i rub yours) by staying in charge until forced out (bob iger). Penny pinching. Penny squeezing. Greedy bastards. These aholes would sell their own kids (they do) for a quick buck and some networking with higher authorities (politicans, states, governements etc).

I don't think anyone can argue this is a comeback, but I'm not sure it was truly meant to be. It felt like an effort to bring people (back) into Disney+. I don't understand the rationale behind taking a beloved serial and throwing it up on the big screen. It never seems to do well, and I can't imagine it casts a wider net on a target audience.
