Oh god...that trailer, it's like Balenciaga meets Star Trek...Trekenciaga

As long as there are no finger wagging in your face sociopolitical lessons on what an audience should think or believe I will check it out, but I am not hopeful. Cool villains and slick lines can get tiresome real quick.

If it makes the incels cry then I love it already.

I will agree with the assertion about Discovery and Picard (except for most of Season 3 which was great), Lower Decks was fantastic. It actually did show the optimism of earlier Star Trek in a comedic way.

I won't say I want tons more TNG, but some would be nice, and more DS9. While I am nostalgic for TNG (I am old enough to have watched it when it first aired) DS9 is my favorite Star Trek because it delved into darker topics and had much better character progression. Plus who can go wrong with stories about a simple Cardassian tailor named Garak?

If they know fans hate it and they expect more flops, WHY keep making more junk no one wants? It's a business, give the customers what they want. Why keep losing money deliberately?

I thought destruction of the IP was the goal?

It does seem that way. You would think someone there would want the studio to make money though.
