“Both franchises have spent the last several years squandering that loyalty by replacing wonder with lectures. …Both franchises forgot what made them work.”
What a fine example of why the Left wins and wins: underestimating the foe. “We’re so much smarter than those foolish Leftists.”
They forgot nothing; they squandered nothing. They repurposed those franchises to serve the Left, part of a core Left project to remold our society. A project running for decades, with success on a scale unimaginable to those watch the original Star Trek or early Dr Who episodes.
They pursue higher goals than revenue for their employers - and are well-paid to do so. My favorite example of this is Corinne Busche. He/she/it took one of the most valuable franchises in gaming - a massive customer base eager for another Dragon Age game - and liquidated it into a Leftist culture-fest. After such a triumph, this person was immediately hired by Wizards of the Coast to revamp another major gaming franchise.
Destruction is a means, seldom a goal for itself. More likely, a widespread motive is hatred of our society. After all, they are quite open about this.
And, of course, a desire for power. Again, no secret. See California and Britain.
None of this is secret. We just prefer to keep our eyes closed.
I agree. But sheep waking up means nothing. Will we organized? Only together are we strong. I’ve written much over the past 20 years about how our stories have evolved. From featuring strong organizations - the Space Patrol, the Federation, SHIELD, Triplanitary, GI Joe, UNCLE, MI6 - to variants of the Lone Rangers. From quasi-realistic stories to outright fantasies.
No. “We’ve” known this (first sniffs, circa 2016) since 2020. My only hope for a Sea Change is the fact that NOBODY seems to sinking $ into going to the theater to see this garbage anymore. A decade of of oblivion had to have had some effect. Right? Right?
Yet “teela” was just released.
It’s crazy how much old stuff, I’ve found awesome. Anyone watched any Argento’s aside from “Suspira”?
Wrong, you’re the toxic one. You’re the one, who has mental health problems, because you’re using emojis like a toddler. And you’re refusing to accept that Star Trek is a franchise in decline. You clearly support political violence.
Still not a dyed-in-the-wool Trek fan. Saw Star Wars at 5 and pretty much followed that path henceforth. I’ve actually grown very fond of “Star Trek”, yet I have absolutely zero fascination with that 90’s, terrible quality show, and all following. To me, it’s nothing different than xena. Just…. Blah.
Movies and sports and chicks were way more interesting in the 90’s than them above… along with charmed and buffy.
I thankfully missed that decade + of “television”.
Same as this he fella. I’m the target audience, but I don’t anybody from my who gives two shits about that roided WWF toy. Anybody a true fan of the derivative, “Thundercats”?
Hey hoolyweak, hand the the reins back to some talented white guys, and perhaps enjoy a startling trend of years in the “black”.
"These episodes worked because they respected the audience. They presented a situation, let the characters respond based on who they were, and left the moral weight for the viewer to carry. Nobody on screen told you what to feel."
To be fair, it's really hard to respect an audience when you are convinced they are stupid and evil.
Enjoyed the Stars Entertwined trilogy. Can’t wait to download this. The decline of Trek and the abomination of the Star Wars sequel trilogy…trashing of a brand. Curious what you thought of Andor. I found the characters and their often very gray morality and sacrifice for freedom fascinating. Luthen was my favorite.
I agree there can still be great story-telling. and that those running the franchises neither know nor care about the historical core audience that made them successful. Look at what happened with Stargate just recently where Amazon scrapped it because it would only appeal to the old audience.
However, as someone who has read Space Fleet Academy (first book). I'd implore you to eschew AI in writing and to hire an editor. The book was good, but suffers from some repetition and one section of chapters where there are contradictory chronologies.
I can’t disagree with this article more! I have greatly enjoyed all the new Star trek shows from Discovery to Starfleet Academy! It saddens me to see how hateful and toxic certain members of the fandom have become over the last few years. This is not how we get a star trek future! We can do better! We must do better! Good luck i will be unsubscribing from this site henceforth. LLAP one to beam out of here! 🖖🏻😎
You’re the one, who’s full hate and toxic. Because you’re refusing to accept that Star Trek is in decline. You’re NOT a Trekkie, you’re an evil political activist.
"In the Pale Moonlight" is one of the best episodes of television, EVER. I will fight anyone that says otherwise!
"I can live with it."

The actual goal is to destroy all of the things we love. They can't stand the idea of white males being happy.

More people are waking up to this, which is a good thing. Spencer Pratt et al.
I rather like what you’re selling here, Roman. Truly.
Thank you. This is the best clarification I've ever read and will add to my thought-list.

The answer: Its both, plus dei and virtue signaling.
I don't agree with your comment. But it's your right to post it. Makes me sad though.
Your name is so perfectly coupled with vomit. It’s kismet.
How’s your sister/wife doing?
You’re a sick monster.
Ok cleatus lol country bumpkin! lol 😂
You are the embodiment of evil and hate. You using emojis is prove that you’re acting like toddler.
Try suicide. Its painless. It'll make you happy.
You sound like a Trumper simp
I ain't American. Dipshit.
You folks are perfect examples of the type of toxic trolls the world is plagued with these days. Get mental health care before it’s too late. 👎🖕

A fantastic overview that exactly identifies the problem and its malignant political goals.

A major course-correction is a must.
I never self-edit, to my detriment.

Goodbye. Good riddance.
You sound like such a great Trekkie. Really embrace the Star Trek Way. Gene would be proud of you folks! Said no one ever...
Gene Roddenberry would actually disapprove an Alex Kurtzman ass kisser like you.
Who said I was a Trekkie? Dipshit.
I understand. Just a random jackass. Good cause there's enough toxic dipshits that claim to be Trekkies. LOL
Wrong, you the real toxic dipshit, because you’re in complete denial.
Nah but at least you tried. hey but at least Trump loves your dumb ass... :-)
