This is what we all need to be doing. Making our own culture and supporting like minded creators.
Youtube videos, tweets, and articles are great, necessary even. But we need to start building our own mythologies and stories.
Give it a go. A few of you may be more talented than you think. You certainly can't be worse than the Starfleet writers.
Our own efforts are slow going. Turns out, a story with a lovesick succubus finding God, redemption, (and love), isn't "clean" enough for most Christian readers and isn't anywhere near dirty enough for most "romance" readers.
But we're not discouraged. Our next book will have a monster slaying priest--think the Witcher, but all his gadgets and powers are divine gadgets and powers
Partway into Book 3. The narrative and scenarios are shifting. Surprises and stealthy attacks or infiktrations are happening. A small band of cadets may be all that prevents disaster.
Cruel Equations was simply perfect. Really enjoyed reading it and books one and two were stellar as well. This genre has been begging to get the attention, love, and finally hard science fiction classic style it deserves and that has finally arrived. Had today set on my calendar to be sure to be one of the first to purchase. Looking forward to the maturation of this incredible and interesting lore. I'm sure not how he'd ever intended it, but thank GOD for Robert Picardo.

Book 3 is odd. It looks like it takes place over three months (6 weeks prep, 2 week deployment, then a few days afterwards), and then a fourth year.
I wonder if it's meant to be that compressed.
