Just what the public wants, another remake.

Another pointless remake. Hollywood truly is empty of anything original and creative.

The 1971 film was as good as this story can get on screen, no small thanks to its unique director, cast and to the fact the screenplay was done by the novel's author - who was also helping Friedkin during the shooting.

If anything, this is likely to be another attempt at a quick cash grab based on nostalgia, with zero added value or substance. And perhaps with a nauseating hint of modern audience throughout the film.
