Well, to offer an opposing viewpoint, I don't care if Bond is played by a black, or even a black woman.

Unfortunately, the reason behind the casting isn't as sanitary. We know exactly why they race-swap. Destroying identity is part of genocide. So even if I could handle a race-swapped character in interest of a different story, it is never just about swapping races: it is about genocide; Bolshevism; humiliation; demasculinization; and deconstructing God.

So the race-swapping shows its true colors and becomes odious. I don't care what color Bond is at the heart of the matter. But I do care that there is evil intent behind taking something and portraying a change for humiliation.

Disgusting what is happening.

I'm generally not in favor of race/sex swapping characters, especially iconic characters like Bond, but I agree with your point about race/sex swapping being generally an exercise in Marxist "humiliation; demasculinization; and deconstructing God". It's also true that this swapping only ever goes one way.

James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in movies with a rich history as a white British man. To race/sex swap Bond would destroy that history and the franchise. Bond has always been a white male and should remain that.

There are other characters that race/sex swapping wouldn't be so jarring as replacing Bond. Leave Bond as he is.

Apparently there are no good black or female characters in all of history and fiction. So we gotta race/gender swap to tell a good story.

Modesty blase springs to mind also Salt was an original film. Sodding vampiric parasites suck the life out of these things leaving husks then swarm to the next. Vote with wallet ignore this crap don't report don't comment look at the original and blank the rest. Money will drive things at the end also maybe Mel and the other chap as ambassadors to hollyweird can lean on them on trumps public service.

It's his eyes. Not right for Bond. Can't fake it.

Yeah I agree. He has a goofy, friendly demeanor in that photo. There’s no hint of danger lurking underneath.

James Bond in an Anglo-Saxon hero and needs to be played by an Anglo-Saxon actor—period.

Mayhaps they should just stop making Bond movies.

This feels like a trial balloon that was sent out and will quickly be denied.
