Anyone else is just over SW?

I don’t even care anymore lol.

We will always have the EU books and first six movies. I really couldn’t care less if they do another movie on lesbian space witches or yet another Grogu/Mando movie on some desert planet.

I didn't realize until now how much he looks like one of Santa's elves.

The Last Jedi at least TRIED to do something new and interesting. I’ll give RJ that.

And no, it’s not because of TLJ that we never got a new movie. It’s Disneys fault. They screwed the pooch so bad that only films who were already in production like IX ever got made.

Are you sure? A lot of it was ripped from a New Hope, just like The Rise of Skywalker would plagiarize The Empire Strikes Back later down the line in that series

TLJ at least TRIED to do something more than a straight shot by shot redo of the OT.

The Rey/Ben subplot, cringe as it was, was also one of the only things in the ST with just a little bit of heart and romance and an attempt at something original.

Imagine if Rey had chosen to join Ben when he says “let’s build something new” and it just cuts to credits. It might not have been GREAT, but at least it would have been original and would have made me go: “Oh wow! Wonder where they’re going with this?! Episode IX might be interesting!”

You gotta admit, it would have been a lot more interesting than: “SOMEHOW, PALPATINE RETURNED!”

Absolutely. You're right.

Alas, we know they fucked it up when TFA came out, and it turned out to be a lazy redo of ANH.

The heart of SW was that it was a family saga with human drama.

Instead of telling the story of the Skywalker grandchildren with some children/parent drama and finding your own way, we got some generic sci-fi/lightsaber slop.

True. Oh, and now I see I confused TFA with TLJ and Rian with JJ there haha

Yes it was. Rian Johnson is clearly deflecting.
