I mean, it's funny that he's playing Herod, though, right? Also, it would depend on how he got hired. If it was a kickback because someone wanted to give Hamill a job it would be bad. But if they wanted name recognition or a certain voice, why would that be bad? They might get a lefty to come watch a movie about Christ that they might have never seen. God will work with what is there, not because it's perfect. Being exclusionary like the Left... is being exclusionary like the Left. Trust that God's message will have more power than just money going into pockets of people we might not like.

Mostly agree that wild wackjobs like Hamill shouldn't get our money, but in general if right wingers want to make good art they need a few people who would identify as lefties. Purity tests for something as diverse (the correct sense) as art should not be gatekept or exclusionary. It's about good art, not politics. Hamill did a fantastic job as The Joker in the Batman franchise for years. His politics don't factor into talent. Most Hollywood art, video games, etc, are collaborative. So if the sound engineer isn't a conservative or Christian we shouldn't pay? If Mark Hamill is starring and it's his project of lefty vomit, keep your money in your pocket. If the art is possibly good, possibly uplifting and a Godly message, a certain amount of blinders go on.

Meh, tribalism, purity tests, no forgivness, all politics. Same bs as the left. Less creativity and talent when you grill everyone for whatever the current fade of purity even is. Instead of having everyone be in the political closest scared to speak, let everyone speak and the consumer can choose who they align with. Less coercion, more freedom, more great art potential. This movie isn't gonna be great art, but if someone like you complains about one drunk lefty front facing actor, no wonder right wing art can't get funding. Also, no one complained about Oscar Issac being Jesus lol.

100% agree with both men. The right has given the left the benefit of the doubt for far too long. The mantra of "talent is all that matters" expecting a reciprocal response has failed. This was reasonable at the start but now there's is no excuse for ignorance. The left needs to be completely excluded from anything explicitly right wing. They mustn't even deliver the coffee.

Completely agree with Marsden. There must be a parallel economy closed to the woke Hollywood monsters, not one which still financially supports them. As for myself - I will not watch any new movie Mark Hamill is associated with.

He's right.

But I'd make an exception for hiring lefties in roles like Herod.
