David Zaslav. WBD’s outgoing CEO walks away with more than $666 million

666?

Makes sense.

The problem is that Paramount bought WBD for it's inventory, not for the creative side of the business. They wanted that sweet sales bread that they didn't have to work to keep cooking.

They have been manipulating the market for decades over spending on content, manipulating the market, colluding with WME, CAA, and UTA to keep the talent pool of creatives small. Using prohibied business tactics in violation of their statements of fiscal management and sourcing “no unsolicated meetings and representation by invitation only.” People need to not watch anything from Hollywood. Sheer corruption and they should be banned from reporting the news.

Now we'll see if anything good comes of it.

Just on the basis of making the sickos in Hollywood weep hysterically, I believe this has all the makings of a monster-sleeper blessing.

I’m certain after this merger is complete, down the road, Paramount Skydance will sell off assets like Discovery, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Showtime, Cartoon Network, the minority stake of Miramax etc.

The price went from 19 to 31 dollars a share. I think the shareholders made out just fine.

Never a fan of monopolies. That's what Ellison's stratagem appears to be. It is ironic. The Golden Age of Hollywood had RKO, UA, 20th Century Fox, and MGM. All gone now. Columbia is owned by a Japanese company (SONY). Even the Poverty Row studios are long gone. Remember Republic Studios? Allied Artists? Universal Studios, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, and Hal Roach were all independent at one time as well. Then the government stepped in and broke up the studio system - their ownership of theater chains especially. And then television networks also began to have a say. Remember DESILU? Now? Now the studios have turned into giant conglomerates. So much for the Sherman Antitrust Act.
