Nolan deserves the massive amounts of shame this movie will bring and unless the actors were truly clueless as to what was planned until they signed on, actors like Matt Damon also deserve the humiliation. I for one look forward to Nolans THE ODYSSSEY being the next all time box office failure in the movie history books and if it achieves that it will be well earned.
Whether fiction or not Helen of Troy was always described as a light fair skinned woman who's beauty caused thousands of men to go to war. This version of Helen looks more like a 40 year welfare recipient who is more likely to chase millions of men away from the theatre. Its also less about race as there are definitely some very beautiful black women out there but Nyong’o is about as far from that as you can get without making her an over weight EBT queen on top of it. And to be clear its not about her acting skills, not every actor or actress that's good is physically attractive, it's about just how out of place the casting choice is.
Nolan had to cast a mentally broken and sexually confused Ellen Paige as Achilles to distract from Nyong’o being the absolute worst casting choice of the show,.
The best thing about this movie is going to be the AI generated memes that tear it to shreds!
