Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie premiered July 9 with an eight-episode first season already renewed for a second, and the opening episode spends its hour on the Ingalls family’s wagon journey from Wisconsin to Kansas.
Bait and Switch. They always do. Just like Drug dealers hook you on the soft stuff to get you addicted ready to load you up on the hardcore stuff (So does the pron industry).
I mean, you just said it yourself. Rebecca Sonnenshine used to work for that piece of garbage, Eric Kripke. Of course she was going to remove the Christianity values from this version. Because her boss, Eric Kripke, hates Christianity.
Lately (last couple of decades), Hollywood's strategy is to release a show and pile on the woke elements later.
As can be seen in the majority of viewer ratings on "successful" shows, ratings fall dramatically in each successive season until not even the producer's mother wants to watch it.
I watched Little House avidly in the 1980s. I have no idea why they are redoing this series except because they have no other ideas. Even in the 1980s, it had missed its ideal audience by twenty years. Michael Landon alone kept it on the air. He was a fantastic Charles. Can't imagine the new Charles is going to top him.

Hollywood can't be trusted. Burn it all down.

They may have not done too much vandalization this episode... but wait for it!
