The difference with the Odyssey is Christopher Nolan is brilliant. I'm not going to see it, regardless of reviews; I'd rather watch a historian do a breakdown on YouTube than sit through the woke casting production of the most lightweight translation of the poem. That said, I think it at least breaks even, thanks to Nolan's talent.
Same reason I'd watch a Ryan Coogler flick: Dude has talent and I like his work, messaging be darned. Same with Jordan Peele. Dude is a good filmmaker.
I agree. Ryan Coogler and Peele have talent but they clamp down on casting anyone except Black Actors for major roles. This has been true, for Ryan Coogler and Peele has flat out said it.
Wait until Doomsday comes out and completely bombs!! I just read on That Park Place (where they still ask you to sound off in comments that no longer exist) that the editing team is struggling to assemble a coherent film because the movie was shot without a completed script. I want Doomsday to fail on a massive level.

I read an article somewhere that studios are adding AI provisions to the contracts of CHILD ACTORS. These would effectively allow the studios to create digital duplicates of the kid.
The upside is you could have shows and movie series where the kids age more naturally. Look at Harry Potter. Each book was supposed to be a year but the filming time was so long the actors were clearly older than their book characters.
On the other hand, wtf. Exploiting children this way is criminal! And, considering how Hollywood is full of pedos, what other disgusting and illicit uses would they create for the images and voices.
I disagree with one thing, it's not about spectacle and it's not about a handful of studios recycling the same IP, the real issue is that the people that are producing the IP's are corrupt, and the IP's themselves are skin suits, all of it being used to push a leftist message that is a betrayal of these IP's. Like that live action Lilo & Stitch where the message went from family is important and you don't leave them behind to abandon your family to pursue your "dream job".

I told my 18 y.o. son that with the wealth of great movies that have already been made, there is no reason for him to see a bad movie in his lifetime. He has taken it to heart. I refuse to watch a new movie at release, the cream doesn't fully rise at milking.

Chris Gore and Alan posted a brief video of their impressions of The Odyssey as they came out of seeing it. Alan hated it!!! 😂😂
Gore was a bit more kind, but you could tell he wasn't impressed. One of the main takeaways is that it's boring.
