When porn is literally used as a weapon by our greatest ally, it's time to ban it.

Laran Mithras's avatar

Smart post. Cogent, insightful, pertinent.

AweDude's avatar

Shhh, trying to apply the logic of one area to another is considered "whataboutism".

Drum Machine Bear's avatar

Ban it all. Free speech is a lie. It's blasphemous trash intended to trap our children into a life of debauchery and slavery to the devil. My only question is if the language about artistic value would leave things too open. But yeah, no problem with a blanket porn ban. It's evil and used to control people and keep them weak.

AweDude's avatar

I just masturbated to your comment. Better delete it because it is pornography.

A highly recommended book on how Sexual Liberation is used as a form of political control. https://www.fidelitypress.org/libido-dominandi

I don't know. The JDL might take action against this as anti-semitic.

Isn't Pornhub owned by a rabbi?

The whole industry needs to be nuked. This is far beyond nudity as art.

I'm sure that Congress, in its infinite lack of wisdom, will find a definition that excludes them from being arrested and charged. Just like they did with cocaine in the white house and Congress, and sex trafficking, and charging protesters with insurrection, and insider trading.

Oh look, now the Frauds on the Right are coming out and showing they are pro Censorship when they were against it when the Left was going after "Hate Speech".

This is what I love about when the Pendulum swings. It shows who is real, and who are the Snakes In The Grass.

Porn should be only accessible for adults, and make Age Verification required, but an outright ban and/or a subjective definition is doing the EXACT same thing the Left is doing.

Frauds will always show their true colors once they think it's safe.......

Of course this is coming out of Utah.

Source: was raised Mormon and currently live in Utah.

I have to agree that porn has done immeasurable damage to all levels of society, and it's getting worse.

On the other hand, if we set a precedent of banning bad speech, what's to stop the left from seizing that precedent to justify arresting people for "offensive social media posts," like in the UK?

But mostly, I doubt the bill will go anywhere. It's just a publicity stunt to garner support. Except for Salt Lake City, most people in Utah will ADORE him for this.

This assumes the Left is not already tyrannical in nature which is a doubtful proposition.

Ben's avatar

Frankly its impractical to ban porn, but i do agree with the sentiment behind it. Our country is way too desensitized to pornography, and it's only getting worse with sites or apps like Onlyfans.

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

Agreed, but you know what they say about the road paved with good intentions. Once you start down the censorship road, anything can be censored. We already fought this battle over "hate speech" and hate groups having a right to protest.

Mr0303's avatar

There's no such thing as "misuse of freedom", you either have it or you don't. Having freedom means the freedom to make mistakes. The same goes for alcohol or cigarettes. Hopefully this censorious garbage doesn't pass. I don't want government to have control over what parents should be responsible for.

LumberJackAhz's avatar

Careful. I've learned that many on Fandom Pulse, even Trent himself are Frauds who are anti-freedom, and don't like being called out for it.

Like you said, there is no such thing as "to much freedom". Your Rights end where another's begins. There is a difference between saying something SHOULDN'T exist, and something CAN'T exist. One is a suggestion, the other is an absolute.

The Right is all about Freedom, and the Left is all about Control. This is a prime example of who is real and who is fake.

This is your last warning. If you continue to libel me, you will be banned.

You liked a comment saying "Ban it all. Free speech is a lie." Is that your position? If so, I don't think the above comment is libel.

John F. Trent's avatar

Reread your comment here and realize it is nonsensical.

Regardless, I liked that comment in the context of the article and free speech as license is indeed a lie. And, yes, pornography should be banned.

And given I do believe that free speech as license is a lie, then I would also believe that him lying about me is indeed libel especially since I've already explained to him in other posts what the definition of freedom is. Given he knows, he is acting in malice. And thus the warning is just.

Mr0303's avatar

That's not a very nice thing to say. In fact it's just a dismissal.

OK, so basically you are against free speech, so him labelling you anti-freedom was correct. The only libellous statement is him calling you a fraud, which is unfair since you are very much open about your position.

John F. Trent's avatar

No. He has a false definition of freedom, which you are now adopting and continuing to spread his lies.

So, you are now given the same warning. If you continue to libel me, you will be banned.

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

This is so funny, coming from the same state where two cities adopted Pride flags as official city flags.

Drum Machine Bear's avatar

Just because some idiot does something, doesn't mean the whole state owns that action.

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

Well, that's kind of how a Representative Republic works, yeah.

Drum Machine Bear's avatar

That's the lie they want you to buy into.

Eric R. Ashley's avatar

Yup. If the vote is rigged then I must bow to the will of the People. Hmmmm.

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

That a whole different topic. Representation is representation. If they aren't doing their job (or the election is rigged), well, you have other problems. What are the four boxes of liberty?

Eric R. Ashley's avatar

speech for soapbox, ballot box, and ammo box. can't remember the 4th.

we do have other problems, but pron makes it worse. and we largely do not have representation. most democrats are not uber crazy. yet a lot of crazy gets imposed on us. why?

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

No, it's LITERALLY the definition of representation.

Drum Machine Bear's avatar

You're not very bright Troy.

Troy R Pacelli's avatar

Ad hominem. Look in a mirror, Drum.

I wouldn’t champion this at all. Blanket porn ban is easily going to be used to excuse banning anything remotely pornographic. You are falling into a trap where art will be put into a furnace “for the greater good”. I don’t trust our politicians to make the right decisions. I would rather have freedom to choose and culturally malign the evils of porn. But to have our politicians who are absolute morons bicker over what is considered “obscene” or “problematic” isn’t much better than what we have now. I would rather not have art be ruined by pedantic bores that know nothing of art.

Mind you that the Bible has rape, incest, nudity and sex. Some would consider that obscene but it is part of history.

I get you are a hardcore Catholic but I would reconsider your stance on bans because as much as it sounds good now, government always finds a way to monkey paw the results. We should find a better solution as Christians to influence culture to shame porn brain think that be moral nags.

AweDude's avatar

You know what's the best thing about porn? It can be literally anything. A video of a naked woman. A video of a naked man. Text describing a naked woman. A drawing of a naked woman. A game featuring exposed feet. A text document about political reform. So many things can be pornographic.

The Rogue Roman's avatar

Pornography is poison. Mandatory death penalty for distributing it.

AweDude's avatar

What an... arousing statement. I would hope that you intend to follow your convictions.

The Rogue Roman's avatar

I haven’t even masturbated in 29 months. When the pornographers are beheaded (legally, of course) I will not miss them.

AweDude's avatar

Man, that sort of commitment is... erotic. It's almost like you are writing pornography right now!

The Rogue Roman's avatar

Stop (((redefining terms))).

AweDude's avatar

Wow, what great inconsistency. The sharp contrast between your moral grandstanding and your unabashed ad hominem is astounding. Truly, the world of erotic arts will be left wanting when you are beheaded (legally, of course).

The Rogue Roman's avatar

You’re not a liar because you’re Jewish. You’re a liar and you’re Jewish.
