Kevin Smith has a time-honored tradition of ruining characters in comics, and now Marvel Comics is bringing him back for Giant Size The Amazing Spider-Man #1 to try to rekindle interest in the franchise.
I am becoming more and more convinced future comic values will be inverse to the numbering. Every second comic will be some version of an issue #1. The number of issue 36's however? Probably one in a million.
Eventually, these beloved comics will fall into the public domain and some enterprising Cartoonist can revive them and tell better stories.

You forgot to mention his Batman miniseries that was never finished.
