I suspect it was written for an audience who will never watch it because of it's source material to the detriment of those who would watch a decent interpretation of the source material.

James Goon also defends his own kid-touching tweets.

"Sorry if no one watches it."

Let's see who loses under those opposing conditions, Jimmy.

Oh, dear. It's dogshit in the ratings, Jimbo.

And 2/3 of the viewers are in the US.

Imagine that.

The series is as disappointing as I suspected.

Glad he could find the time to do that between researching and editing in needle drop songs to whatever film he’s directing or shadow-directing.

Gunn's a mixed bag with me. I've never seen his early TROMA stuff. Not my cup of tea. I read that early in his career he wanted to do a remake of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND and have all of the castaways be cannibals. Fortunately Sherwood Schwartz nixed that idea! His SCOOBY DOO movies were fine. I haven't seen SLITHER. The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY franchise has been very entertaining so far so I'll give him that. But he's screwed the pooch on DC - from THE CREATURE COMMANDOS to SUPERMAN. WILE E. COYOTE VERSUS ACME was surprisingly well done, though. Apparently SLITHER is his only ORIGINAL story. With other IPs? SCOOBY DOO, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and WILE E. COYOTE? Thumbs up. But DC properties? He's made a mess.
