"Whether the show can serve both the legacy fanbase and a new audience is the creative challenge"
There is no challenge because there is no new audience. "Urban" audiences have zero, possibly negative, interest in scifi in general and The X-Files specifically.
Scan Tubi to see what they are actually interested in, if you have a care.
Ryan Coogler sold out. He's bog standard Hollywood atheism with a black face. For it to be a black man's "turn" to play front man for the god-hating Hollywood machine is not a success or anything worth celebrating. Where was the "superiority" of abstract reasoning when faith in the Almighty was the only thing helping his ancestors get up in the morning? (A faith that was rewarded generation after generation with step-by-step deliverance from their oppressive rational "superiors.") Disgusting to see what he's become.
they never lear, do they

Black Panther struck me as being mediocre at best. Also I expect the new X-Files to die a quiet, miserable death.
it wasn’t even good. just had hip hop weaved into the theme.
