I suppose this does mirror reality in an unintended way. I've met plenty of people who became gay and then adopted a lisp and flamboyant mannerisms. They put on a whole new persona. Kinda flies in the face of the "born that way" messaging of the 90s.
Rannells playing him as a person first was subversion in order to get the audience to sympathize with the character and excuse away his evil sexual behavior. I stopped watching Invincible in the first season after the dad said that he sees his wife and the mother of his child like a pet, after that I said I'm out. The evil of the show was way past obvious at that point.
I remember a gay co-worker back in the 90s telling me that the flamboyantly feminine ones were referred to as "butterflies" and kind of looked down on within the community. He was a bit flamboyant himself, but I have no idea how accurate his statement was, or if it applied anywhere outside his own social circle, or if it still does.
So hilarious and simultaneously eye-roll inducing. The most visible gay dude in our country is currently the treasury secretary, and you wouldn’t even know it. He recently did an entire press conference and he comes across as intelligent, witty and funny. Reminds me of a straight guy I grew up with who became a college prof. The guy has a minor stutter of sorts like Bessent but he’s very thoughtful and it doesn’t really affect his overall competence. In real life someone’s orientation doesn’t play a major part in their overall perception, but this should even be less of a factor in a super hero story where action scenes drive the story. So it becomes nothing more than a way to inject drama, which I only imagine is directed to the females. Dudes don’t care for it for the most part, and I’m taking the liberty to include gay dudes.
Wokies stepping on each others toes
woke spoils everything, including itself

The gay voice affectation is so fake and lame and it supports the the observation that these people are not genuinely following their own path.
In order to be a gay "individual," you have to talk, act, dress, and think a certain way, and that way only. That's not a lifestyle, that's a cult.

How wonderful, even more fake and more gay. I am happy to continue avoiding this tripe.
Haven't watched it, not going to.
Well, we all just love prancing phaggots so much, so it tracks.
