Brilliant article. Even before you mentioned "Sargasso Sea" I remembered how in college, as an English major, I had that awful book shoved down my throat not once, but twice. At the time, I knew it was trash, but couldn't articulate why. This article clarifies that beautifully. All we can do is hope the audience will finally wise up and stay away from this garbage in droves.

Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesaria in Capadoccia, urged the young Christians to read and study Homer. And now some arrogant women believe that they know better. Delusional.

Arrogant women think they're smart women. They also think that we, straight white males, are the scourge of the world or something along that line. Delusional indeed.

"do you think the original poem still has the strength to outlast the revisionists?"

Surely, this can't be a serious question.

These Modern Writers need to be taken out back and beaten with a rubber hose.

I'm tired of everything being re-written as LGBT bullshit.

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumors of Elliot Page (Ellen Page) playing Achilles? 5’1” and 105 pounds……

If true, my prognosis is it won't bode well for Nolan's reputation. Especially not for the movie. I'd like to know whose insane idea it would be if actually true. I feel a little stupid right now because it's already done, we just don't know the results for sure. OMG the 17th is tomorrow! Damn it!

Madeline Miller, there's a price to pay for turning classics into gay shit. And you're gonna pay it soon enough. I wonder if you can afford it... Probably not. Karma shows no mercy, and no one has ever escaped it.

Are those tattoos on Emily Wilson's arms real? If yes, it's obvious that giving such a woman permission to INTERPRET (NOT TRANSLATE) ancient classics was not a good idea. A lesson for the future, if anyone's willing to learn.
