Leonardo DiCaprio, Natalie Portman, Daniel Radcliffe, and Ron Howard all appear to have done alright. I would even argue that Ron Howard is a far better movie director than an actor. As usual, it is up to the parents as to how these children end up turning out.
As someone who not only works in the film business actor facing, but has worked with people on your list - I can say you don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know a single person who works inside the industry who wouldn’t say the same thing. These people - even the normal seeming ones - have closets full of skeletons and a head full of neurosis. Also DiCaprio hasn’t had a girlfriend over 25 in 3 decades. That’s not exactly normal 😂
There are plenty of other people besides actors with a head full of neurosis. DiCaprio's "love life" doesn't interest me. Is he materially well off? Yes. Is he suicidal? Not that I'm aware of. Is he a drug addict or alcoholic? Perhaps - yet he appears to have done quite well. I would be interested in knowing what the closets full of skeletons that Opie Taylor//Richie Cunningham has though!
When something like this happens it fills me with irrational rage, because I’m a mom of young babies, and I know how much they need their mommy.
I have a cousin who lost her mom and her sister, but she had young children. She killed herself while she was cuddling her 2 year old. I just can’t even fathom that. I get that some people have overwhelming grief and/or trauma, but it’s just not right for a mom to seek death instead of fearing it the most while having young babies that depend on them.
there is something strange and deeply painful about grieving someone you never knew, and still recognizing something in their life, their pain, their trying. i think sometimes we are mourning the person, and sometimes we are mourning everything their story reminds us is fragile in all of us. i just keep hoping we can let moments like this make us softer with the people who are still here. <3
I never saw any of her movies or shows but I can relate to alcoholism/drug addiction. It is a devastating disease. Thank God, I've been sober for over 35 years but my ex-husband died of it and my son is now going thru it. Nothing I can do except pray for him.
