I'm not only laughing at him, but I'm laughing at his "fan base." They're still waiting? lol
Not only was his writing not very good, but it didn't introduce anything fresh into fantasy except incest.
Whoop de do.
I couldn't get past the first book, and watched almost all of the adaptations. Didn't like the adaptations, either. What? Good costumes and music? Might as well go to a Halloween party. At least you know it ends.
This fat cocksucker scarred Fantasy and it may never recover. He opened the floodgates for all this degenerate incest, twilight, smut garbage that permeates the bookshelves right now.. I hope he cries himself every night to sleep knowing he is the biggest failure in literature to ever happen.
Mostly agree, but Twilight. Girl waits for sex until marriage, and gets All the Prizes. Hot hubby, eternal youth, fast car, lovely baby, married into ruling family, serious political influence, free nice house. Mostly, its an advertisement for young girls to get married first.
He's just screaming for attention at this point. I think most of his fans reached the apathy stage and he's trying to reel them in by empty promises, while promoting his other garbage work. I don't think it will work.
I’m glad I never started. Just get AI going on it to help and a good editor to remove the prompts. People will get over it sucking and they’ll move on. Or let JDA do it and give him a decent paycheck and NDA.
I’ve never read any of his books or watched any of the tv adaptations and thanks to this PSA, I never will. There’s plenty of excellent fantasy and SF out there, enough to last a lifetime.
I'm reminded of how, growing up in Chicago, I would watch the Cubs lose and lose again. They lost so frequently, people began to say they were cursed. When they finally won the World Series, I was forty-eight. Their championship drought was 108 years long. That's how I feel about George Martin. Will he ever finish "Winds"? Yes, by 2119.
He's a coward and indicative of the artistic landscape of entertainment nowadays. Hard work and dedication are frowned upon and just want people to just have the slop and enjoy it. All the while creatives sit back, relax and take in the royalty checks.
This is why I respect the hustle of Chuck Dixon and Mark Millar. They are true artists that don't want to be lazy twats online hoping you respect them for past successes.
Imagine what a talented editor and ghost writer could do if they had free reign to fix all the books, remove all of the dreck and idiotic character arcs, and gave us the Ice and Fire wedding we all wanted.
I agree that most fans have given up at this point, and even if Martin were to publish ‘Winds of Winter’ I probably wouldn’t read it. I certainly don’t think Martin owes it to his fans to finish the series, but his toxicity towards the same people who made him rich and famous is just strange.
Most authors that I’ve met sincerely appreciate the people that read and support them. They know that, without their fans, they wouldn’t be able to do what they love.
Martin appears to have forgotten that. This is a problem of his own making.
It's gotten to the point where I wonder if George R.R. Martin really exists, or if he's an intel cutout and insert.
"George R.R. Martin" and "J.R.R. Tolkien" are very similar linguistically, while the esoteric secret society affiliations and dual first-name monikers of an earlier "George Martin," the Beatles producer, are well-known among those of us who follow "The News Benders" IRL [https://youtu.be/xYAke_z3RVU?si=p5s0v3FqTMQN5CaB].
So my wild guess is that somebody else was actually writing the SONG OF FIRE & ICE books, somebody who didn't want to be famous, and fat gross George R.R. Martin got blessed to play front man, because, as we've learned from his cringe-tastic blog, GRRM's clearly a narcissistic thin-skinned fame whore. But then that other writer died, and now they're fvcked.
Even if that's not true, that's the Narrative we should be pushing. George deserves it. If he doesn't finish the fantasy series, he's a Failure and a Loser, a betrayer of his Art and his readers. Anything that can be used to shame him into finishing at least one of those damn books should be used as a weapon. Fvck that guy.

Thank you. I find another person who read the first book, and said 'just no'.
I only read the first one and half the second one, but I didn't think he was a bad writer. Just an over-writer.

He doesn't cry. He loves the angst. And, he's a perv

No, George; you gave up!

I think George wrote himself into a corner and he can't figure out how to get out.
Here's a hint to writers everywhere. If you aren't going to finish what you started, just admit it.
Don't leave your fans hanging.
At least he kinda confirmed what we thought.
No one wants to read del arroz.
But fuck George. Whiny little bitch cab fuck right off.
The show is Canon. The books are fan fiction.
>we know he told the show runners the true ending because they told us so
>we know the show runners would use the GRRM ending out of respect/a lack of any alternative because they were creatively bankrupt
>therefore it's safe to say the shows terrible ending is where the books were ultimately going
>GRRM doesn't want to admit his planned ending is the same BS the show had because it sucked and everyone hated it.
>therefore: winds of winter/rite of spring is never getting released lol
Fans are tired of bracing themselves
This is bizarre.
