John Dombrow, a former Senior Narrative Designer at BioWare who worked on Dragon Age: Veilguard and a former Senior Writer on Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei, has found a new job at Bethesda as a Senior Quest Designer. This Substack is reader-supported.
Moving on to ruin more games! His five-year mission, to explore strange new genders, to seek out new games and new franchises! To proudly ruin where no soy has ruined before!
Didn't buy Veilguard, won't be buying Yotei and if this jerk is working for Bethesda won't be buying any more of their games. Vote with your wallet, people!!
Veilguard's faults aren't often detailed on a spiritual side. Veilguard's "villain" was none other than the God of Creation (El'garnon if I've spelled that right). The very God (absent from his throne) turns out to be the All-Father.
Veilguard's lore contained a couple of evil gods that could have easily assumed the role of villains, but the Biowoke team chose to make the Creator the villain.
Veilguard is all about killing God. The characters "celebrate" the idea of killing Him at strategic points throughout the game and revel in how they will henceforth be able to live without God in their lives after. Presumably so they will have no moral condemnation for their denial of their natural genders.

I underestimate the amount of thirst that gamers had for acceptance.
