As a member of the "gay community" (I don't act on it), I am fine with standing in the breach to protect society from what comes after gay marriage. It has been horrifying beyond anything I ever imagined. I'd be happy to return to a more sensible time where marriage is between one man and one woman. States could forge civil unions if they wanted to; they don't need to be called "marriages." Trendy straights could get unioned to their partners to show their semantic sympathies if they wished.
There has been 1 wonderful thing happen since the legalization of gay marriage; the lesbian divorce rate and the gay divorce rates. These have proven that marriages are more likely to ended the more women are involved. Amongst heterosexual couples, men are look for relationships while most women today (Millennial aged and younger) are looking for opportunities. That's not to say they get married to men they don't like or love but that most of them today are about self satisfaction over family.
Yep. Its interesting how its one way only though where having 2 men doesn't generate the same kind of breakup level conflict that 2 women create. Men are high in disagreeableness where as women are high in agreeableness and so the woman traditionally tries to avoid conflict but with what feminism has done to the younger generation of women its made them overly masculine and conflict filled.
