β€œThere is a bubbling theory that The Walt Disney Company and much of Hollywood does not care about how much money they lose at the box office”

Yes Disney has become a 177 Billion dollar company by not caring how much money they lose. Do you hear how stupid this sounds? Peoples brains have really leaked out of their ears writing stuff like this.

Why do they keep making these films that repeatedly lose money over and over and over again?

John, you must be aware of this but Disney makes many many films that make lots of money. Is it news to you that Disney is a successful film making company?

They milk every bit of IP they have to death, hence all the Star Wars sequels and TV shows, live action remakes, marvel schlock and sequels to any successful movie like moana 2 and frozen 2, both garbage. If they have popular IP they WILL try to make a sequel or remake. Sometimes they make money, sometimes they don’t. I agree that all the live action films are crap and I don’t understand the point of them (who was asking for a β€œlive action” lady and the tramp?). But to suggest it’s some Illuminati trilateralist cabal rather than β€œuncreative executives trying to squeeze every last penny they can out of popular IP” is just overthinking it.

They are a money making company, they make movies, they make theme parks, they make money. You can accuse them of being woke but accusing them of not looking out for their bottom line is ridiculous.

It really is amazing, isn’t it? These fools are so focused on hatred, resentment and paranoia, and there is such a huge market for feeding it, common sense has gone out the window.

Disney seems to have made a mistake in hiring a young popular actress who they thought would have good box office appeal, but who like many young people today also lacked both common sense and a filter. Shit happens in the entertainment industry. These overwrought right wing β€œthey’re out to destroy civilization (and lose money at the same time)” pieces have reached a level of hysteria that really should cause a little introspection among our conservative friends.

4 years ago, Disney's market cap was $365 billion. Quod erat demonstrandum, dude.

Too late. They can’t undo the damage that has been done.

Blaming Zegler for the numbers and not the fact that they have an entire murderer on set is an interesting choice.

The theory Disney and other legacy media companies have become purveyors of pure propaganda has a lot of merit. The loss of viewer ship and resulting cash bleed seems to have no impact on their woke leftist messaging. Any normal corporate board would blanch at the numbers and move to replace upper management. If you look at Disney’s major shareholders, such as Laurene Jobs, who also owns the Atlantic, and verbally expressed see these media companies as a conduit for their progressive messaging, it all begins to make sense.

Disney is dead to me, and was when they kept rebooting old movies.

Disney is so uncreative it's unbelievable. There's no use to have D+.

Any substack fiction writer can write better than Disney Imagineers.
