AI is a tool. It's very good at pattern recognition. You could probably play test a board game then iterate much faster than traditional means. Especially in the earlier stages. When it's good enough, have people test it.
Some designers literally use spreadsheets to make sure things are balanced. I don't hold that against them. Use the tools available to make it easier.
Just eliminate anything these social engineers are producing. I know people like new and shiny but I bet everyone, every fan, every one, could play the exact version of the game they first got on board with and ride tgat out for the rest of their lives. Let these big companies print $50 books full of chicks and everything but white men (who make up 90% of the participants), and sell three copies. Ignore them. Shun them. Turn your back on them and focus on the bits that gave you joy in the first place. Just, disregard all this travesty and let it die on the vine.
