No, it's an original series set in the real world

I enjoy it. I'm currently reading book 5. The series does a good job of telling stories from different perspectives of front line combat personnel, researchers/scientists developing new equipment & tactics, local militia units, etc. to give you a good idea of what's happening in the US. You hear little snippets of other countries, but the focus is mostly in the States. I think the Land & Sea guys do plan on telling stories of what's been happening in other counties using comics, graphic novels and maybe some spin-off books.

I really like description of the different combat suits (ASHURs). I especially liked reading how the R&D guys were developing new ASHURs to fight the aliens under the oceans; but I'm an engineer so I find that sort of stuff interesting.

I don't think that novel is a CGL product. It was published back in June earlier this year and I have not seen anything on the CGL store that sells this product.

However, Po Ding was a character that was created by a guy over at DFA Wargaming more than 4 years ago. So Jason Livermore may have committed plagiarism. Definitely something that warrants further investigation.

Ahh it looks like one.

That's the whole point. Piggy back off an IP and dress it up to look like its an official product to fool people into buying it. The artwork and font used on the cover are similar, if not identical, to the current style that CGL uses on their books.

Even though CGL has cut all "official" ties with Jason Livermore (aka Faith McCloskey, AceKaller, House Master Po Ding), they still talk with him behind the scenes. Jason has even gone so far as to say Byran Young is his mentor. So the people over at CGL probably gave him the contact information of the artists, editors, etc. they use for their books.

Or I just did some basic research and am supporting artists. You know, that could happen.

There is no plagarism. I have permission to use Po Ding's name in writing. Got that before I even started, so thank you very much.

I haven't read battle tech book in forever. With this stupidity, I'm not likely to do so in the future.

Our society has gotten real bad about elevating commies to fame.

Thanks for the free publicity, Jon. I haven't even publicized this book and sales are now rolling in. Thanks a million, who's the stalker now? lol

This is as stupid as hiring Sirhan Sirhan to write politics for Mother Jones in 1970. Best case fantasy scenario? Catalyst gets sold off by Topps as a money losing dog of a company to other investors who hire Blane Lee Pardoe to save the brand as "editor in chief" with carte blanche. (If he'd have it.)
