Money laundering, insurance scams, taxbreaks, networking with government for contracts etc means executives get paid regardless. Everyone else has paycuts or work for peanuts (activists) since they are happy for the platform or megaphone to run their mouths without needing paycheck to back it up.

They get around royalities since copyright is 20 % different or 80% same means it counts as a derinative work therefore royalities dont need to be paid to copyright holders.

Saving money to make money. Penny pinching. Penny squeezing. Hollywood greed.

Well if you'd pay me say 10% of the production cost of every episode I'd have to watch, I'd concider it. Short of that? Just... no.

"What would it take for you to watch Rings of Power Season 3?"

The Arkenstone. Like the actual stone, from The Hobbit.

The only way I’d watch S3 of this slop is if they paid me and my wife to sit through it. And that’s not going to happen, so we won’t be watching. Also, they would need to do that too with us for the unwatched S1/S2 for the catch up.

After reactions started coming in at the end of season 1, I posted on BIC back in the day that Bezos would likely produce all five seasons of this slop out of spite; unfortunately, I've been proven right--

The only parts of Rings of Power I've watched have been from clips roasting it on YouTube-- hopefully Amazon continues to lose a small fortune on it, and perhaps other 'creators' will learn not to #$%@ with Tolkien...
