"The film relies heavily on the book and its comic adaptation, weaving in current Disney canon elements alongside an original storyline exploring Ezra Bridger’s relationship with Grand Admiral Thrawn, the Chiss homeworld, and a journey into the Unknown Regions."
Oh no...
It's retarded.
First, it goes for comic adaptations outside of the original novel, then it includes DISNEY CANON, and finally an ORIGINAL STORYLINE.
Why?
Why put in all of this effort if you were just going to screw it up regardless?
Whoever is doing this is NOT Timothy Zahn, and has no business pretending they can ADD to his story.
Make the adaptation as close as 1-to-1 as you can. If you want to show off your dumb ideas, get a job with the studio system like every other dumb "creative" who thinks they can do it better than the original, or heck, MAKE YOUR OWN THING!
We have Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings to prove that faithful adaptation is the best possible goal. We have nearly every other Hollywood adaptation ever proving that getting away from that almost always lowers the quality of the film, often even going as far as ruining it.
Putting actors in movie roles they didn't consent to is wildly unethical. Particularly if they're deceased. it's just ghoulish. It's basically theft. The living actors are still working. Poor Cailee Spaeny didn't even get a "credit". Or her face and body didn't, it's not really clear to me how that would even work. I'm not like an anti-AI luddite, I just think the way this was made is kind of fucked up. You might disagree, but I would venture to guess your opinion would change if it was your story or likeness that was stolen.
I recently came across a you tube version of Flash Gordon. It was in my opinion the best use of that ip in video or film ever. All done with A.I. The idiots at King Features shut it down when they should have hired the guy. I'm hoping some indie Aithors can hook up with one of these A.I film makers to put their I.P.to film. Maybe for a split of the you tube fees.
I find the tech intriguing and still far from perfect, but the execution suffered. Maybe the creation suffered by trying to cast too wide a net, hitting the OG, Comics (already an adaptation), and the abomination that is what Disney has made of the lore.
On the bright side the creator managed to keep me entertained for 15 minutes which, with a small exception with THE Luke scene in Mando, is 15 minutes more than any Disney Star Wars product in the last decade.
It's neat, shows great potential, but they mangled the story (to be expected)

I’ve been really really impressed with the Beggar’s Canyon series by @starwarslostlegends https://youtube.com/@starwarslostlegends?si=2dVJFxuyGIu54TDt
