Worldcon’s “Trust and Safety” Committee Isn’t About Safety, It’s About Control

Worldcon’s business meeting spent ten minutes this week debating a new committee called “bidding trust and safety.” The pitch sounds reasonable on its surface: to protect convention attendees, ensure future host cities are “safe.” Listen to the actual debate, though, and the mask slips fast.
