Audible pointed me recently in the direction of a Star Trek fan book Dark Universe. Since audible wanted too much money I checked it out on Kindle. The e book is free and the audiobook is only a 1.99 there. Worth a read or a listen.
I hope fan productions are here to stay. If the powers that be were smart, fan productions are a form of free advertising, or if the production is high enough quality, perhaps the IP can be licensed out even.
The illusive modern audience is allergic to hard work and sacrifice, always parasitically demanding millions of dollars to do their own self-therapy, many fan productions drip with the appreciation of passion of the fans that make it.
