Where I'll agree with you: new Star Trek is mostly bad. There are exceptions here and there... but, yeah, mostly really bad.

So... I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm pretty hardcore left-wing, and woke as balls. I don't care if a Black woman is the lead in Discovery. Great; why not? If there's a gay Klingon in Starfleet Academy -- great; the more the merrier.
... and I think that new Star Trek mostly sucks. It's full of characters I don't really give a crap about; it's full of dull stories that I can't remember from one episode to the next. And the puppet episode of SNW was the straw that broke the targ's back.
(Also, at the point you mentioned in the Star Trek Universe Virtual Panel, Kurtzman is specifically talking about using the hashtag #StarTrekUnited on the company's social media to promote those left-leaning causes -- he isn't talking about using the Star Trek franchise as a whole as a vehicle for that.)
If the creator of Social Realist Movie is a Master like Sergei Eizenstein even such movies can be masterpieces. "Battleship Potemkin" and "Alexander Nevsky" come to mind. Kurtzman and his ilk are talentless hacks, that's why they destroy everything they touch. The "Top Gun" "Rambo" and other similar movies are shameless propaganda but they have decent stories although the characters are cardboard and loathsome. Kurtzman at. al. cannot do even a decent propaganda show.
There was a time when it wasn't necessary to say these things. Now it is. - We need to inform the public, protect the consumer and demand a better product. - It matters: the stories we tell, the media we consume, our children and our loved ones matter.
For example you could show how an episode in “classic or true trek” with a similar plot to an episode “kurtzman trek” differ. Say “classic episode” blank has this and this while “kurtzman trek” has blank and blank completely fumbling the point due to their devotion to their propaganda.
