I don't have it in me to want to hate this movie. I was really excited cause Nolan does have a gift, but now I can't be bothered to even think about it.
I probably won't even look for it on the high seas. Just like many other SJW/DEI/ESG ideologically infected movies.
I told Librarian of Celeano he still filled most of the major roles--Odysseus, Telemachus, Penelope, and Antinous--with white people. After all, Helen doesn't play much of a role in the Odyssey, the war's over and Odysseus is trying to get back home. My guess is he did the Helen of Troy thing to get enough blowback from conservatives to get woke points with critics so they won't go after it, and then made the big-budget special effects movie he wanted to make with the major players.
Influencers are going to say whatever makes their audience happy so he doesn't want bad memes from conservative influencers. and he's going to have a hard time weeding those out because Hollywood doesn't understand Gen Z all that well. But if the general public wants a special-effects movie, which we know Nolan is quite competent at (Dark Knight trilogy, Prestige, Inception), they'll get what they want and he'll make money.
I am sure Sub-Saharan Helen is a token DEI hire to allow him to be eligible for the Oscars. Without her and the rapper guy he might not have the representation to qualify for best picture.
I also think they're counting on the SJWs admiring the casting so much they actually finally come to the movie. Usually, they bitch and moan but never end up supporting the media that does comply with their demands. Supergirl being the most recent example.
Comcast can see the writing on the wall for Hollywood. No wonder their trying to offload NBCUniversal. They got rid off Cable and Linear Networks as Vercent (?) And thats tanking in stock value with their impending layoffs. Heck Disney under Iger was trying offload the company to Apple. They know the Industry is Dying. They're building their liferafts and looking to get out whilst the HOLLYWOOD UNIONS are Destroying everything around them.
