Its clear the die hard SW fan base has not moved past the crap that Darth Kennedy did to the IP and while Favreau's first 2 season of Mando was a fresh take, she couldn't resist strewing that up in season 3 and so its no surprise that the movie is a mixed bag. My guess is that the professionals are rating it low b/c its not diverse and woke enough. The die-hards like Neurodtic call it crap b/c it still isn't what STAR WARS should or could be. The rest are likely easily entertained and are seeing it for the mindless forgettable flick it is.

Had this been the next film after THE FORCE AWAKENS I imagine it would have scored much higher than it has amongst the SW fan base. When you have poisoned the well as often and as hard as Kathleen Kennedy has its hard to make anything that will be well received that isn't top notch. We al should be concerned that when asked about it, Favreau himself said he wasn't really sure why they wanted this thing.

With any luck the results will enforce what new mgt at Disney knows, that Igor and Kennedy royally screwed up one of the words most valuable IP's and its not going to be fixed by a single film. Either Disney needs to get its shit together and put SW on the right path with the right people or unload the IP and ideally to someone or some group that will trat it with respect.

Word of mouth will make or break it. Lets look at second week dropoff and beyond. Thats where Solo crashed out.

pulp adventures in a shared universe is where Star Wars should always have expanded its franchise. Yes, eps 1-9 should have all been epic. But a universe that big can't have dozens of epic movies. The MCU did it mostly right aside from being snarky, shallow man-baby bait.

When adjusted for inflation, Mandaloadofshit And Grossgoo is officially below Solo.
