Jon Favreau gave an interview to GamesRadar this week ahead of The Mandalorian and Grogu‘s May 22 opening and said something that should be setting off alarms inside Lucasfilm.
Could care less. When Gino Carrano was fired, I cancelled Disney+. I haven't missed it for one moment. Got rid of Netflix too. $30 a month, over $300 a year, I got to put to something that actually made me happy.
Jon was called in b/c he's the only one at DISNEY Star Wars to produce anything exciting, the first 2 season of The Mandalorian, before Darth Kennedy got her grubby feminist hands on it and destroyed it like everything she touches.
Disney needed a win in the SW Film-verse and they hoped Favreau could deliver that but it would have been better to let him do a season 4 sans Darth Kennedy/s touch than to try and remux that into a film.
At this point and assuming that let Jon & Dave use the Veil to undo the damage Kennedy caused they might can start SW anew with a new story and new characters done right. I believe that the ANDOR series proved that SW can succeed and been good w/o always having to revolve everything around the skywalker storyline, they just need a good team to do it. The most recent SW Animated series, MAUL, was excellent. They just need a way to channel Filoni's success with animation into live action and maybe Jon can help make that happen.
