I’m getting sick and tired of hearing the term “review bombing”. It’s clearly a shield for badly written projects, that have Wokeness in it.

AI chatbots aren't actually intelligent. They just scrape the web and put undue weight behind access media and reddit opinions.

As both of those two sources are either willfully blind to the truth or complicit in covering it up, neither is going to have an accurate take on this.

Fans don't want Star Trek to die. They want BAD Star Trek to die and be replaced by GOOD Star Trek. It's not difficult to understand unless you're working in bad faith as those "sources" are.

Remember kids, AI is just the same model we've been using for years with computers: inputs and outputs. Garbage in equals garbage out.

Let’s just consider “review bombing” shall we? So what they’re (whoever they are), so what they’re saying in essence, is that their intended target audience is so stupid and easily swayed by the people who don’t like the “——“, that is being pumped out? That they are simple consumers, yet skittish as a dear, if people leave negative reviews? I thought the fanbase was out there, just waiting with open arms for this garbage being produced right now? Is this gigantic audience charged with potential energy, so easily put off because conservatives don’t like what thus audience supposedly loves so much? Shouldn’t that lead to humongous box office returns? Wouldn’t this audience go to two, three viewings just to spite critics? Why is Noooooooooo one showing up? Do they faint at “boo!”

Not at all. Review bombing is the lowest of the low bullshit coming out of that camp.

Hahahahahahaha!

Review bombimg?!

Hahahahahahaha!

If you want to see real review bombing, check out the ratings for the Melania documentary on IMDB.

“the company hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write, produce, and direct a film that is ‘a completely new take on the Star Trek universe and not connected to any previous or current television series, movie or prior movie development projects.’”

Trek is doomed. The odds of them creating a successful brand new franchise sharing only the name “Star Trek” is …low. Microscopic.

Even if we accept that the premise is true, which it isn’t, I really don’t see the problem.

If the choice is between icing Trek for however long or continuing to rape the corpse of a franchise with subpar shit shows, then fuck: No Trek for me!

The old, GOOD Trek will still be there.

Eh... If we turn around his appeal "if you hate it don’t watch!", then logically, if people are not watching it, it means people hate it, which in turn means there is no "review bombing", there are just people posting negative reviews because they hate it.

Incidentally, if he feels so strongly about the show's failure, why is he not addressing this to the screenwriters, directors, studio executives, etc. who actually make the calls and are responsible for this travesty?

If you're a baker and the owner of your bakery has a brilliant idea to start adding a bit of dung in your products, are you going to lament the unsophisticated tastes of your customers? Or will you tell your boss that he is an idiot or a dangerous lunatic and blame him for the failure? And, very importantly, why should this be a difficult question for some people?

For the next 10 years? I'm okay with that.

Ice the franchise and get Kurtzman's grubby little claws off it?

I'm already all for review bombing this dreck, you don't need to keep convincing me!

Oh well! Maybe if the show didn’t suck…

I didn't even bother pirating this slop, blackmailing us or holding a franchise hostage will have no effect on us, there is 100's of shows out there

"If you hate it, don't watch it. Oh but don't tell anyone that you hate it, because then I can't produce stuff like it anymore" ... there, fixed it for you. Get lost, honestly.

10-15 year hiatus is the best thing that could happen to Trek right now. Then quietly retcon all the bs and start fresh.

And "if Trek fails fans will have an equal share in that outcome"? You're damn right, just that your part of the share is writing sh*t and the fans' share is calling you out in equal measure. And don't act like we're talking about the same Trek here. Your Trek will fail. The fans Trek will have a chance to be resurrected. Get wrecked!

If exorcising KurtzTrek means losing Legacy, regrettable, but acceptable.

So bad reviews of a bad show are now called review bombing?

Yes, Kurtzman Trek WILL result in the burial of Star Trek for ten years.

Good.

This zombie needs a decent burial.

Maybe after this slop is forgotten by a generation or two, it might come back in a form that provides actual entertainment.
