I’ve said this a few other places but money is no longer free. With ZIRP or NIRP the payoff horizon can be very long. Eventually it will generate enough revenue to pay off. Because the carrying costs are so low and inflation reduces the effective amount. It goes deeper than that really but the surface is just that you can do anything if you’re close to the money spigot and the money is free.
Now money is costing… money. All this uneconomic nonsense is just unsustainable.
I think Winderbaum is doing what we know leftists do: blame anything else except the real reason.
What interests me more about this is that it does appear that the unlimited funding for this propaganda is finally drying up.
