I don't like PvP at all anymore. I work a lot of hours and when I want some downtime, the last thing I want is to go up against some kid who spends 30 to 60 hours a week doing nothing but playing the game, who trash talks men who would put him in the ground if they ever met face to face and they acted that way towards me, and who more often than not have illegal mods on their machine.
I play games to unwind and relax. Yeah, when I was a much younger man, PvP was fun and I mostly did it with friends at LAN parties (remember those?)
But I'm an 'old man' now and I've got better things to do with my time than that. I play games to unwind - not to get wound up. It's annoying that games that once promised to be PvE, then became 'well there will be PvP but you won't have to if you don't want to' are now '100 percent PvP'.
Look I get it, your developers are too f'in stupid to create a good story, so you throw PvP in because it's cheaper and easier to do. Just don't expect to get my money - I'll go hit the range or read a book instead.
