Magic: The Gathering has cut off its community just like many in another community have cut off their… Well, this is a family publication, so let’s get into the news of a recent lottery scam that ended up raising half a million for a transgender organization.

Over recent years, Magic: The Gathering has followed much of the tabletop gaming industry into relentless promotion of social justice activism, turning off a lot of regular players of the game in the process. As of now, the company’s being kept afloat by doing special sets like “Final Fantasy” themed MTG, or Marvel themed sets to try to bring in other collectors of other fandoms, which works for their sales, thoug,h like most of board and card gaming, the business model is not working well across the line.

The transformation began in 2020 when Wizards removed cards like “Invoke Prejudice,” “Cleanse,” “Stone-Throwing Devils,” “Pradesh Gypsies,” “Jihad,” “Imprison,” and “Crusade” from tournament play, claiming they were “racist.” The company then introduced characters like Alesha, Who Smiles At Death, specifically marketed as transgender representation, complete with story fiction emphasizing pronouns to ensure players understood the political messaging.
