I'll be honest, I don't have the best knowledge of the story as I'm a novice to the series. I only got to play the first game and its sequel but never got around finishing either of them.
After thinking about it further, I understand what you are saying. It does have a lot of those elements which is sad to see. It did seem pretty gnostic at certain points, which is heretical. I should definitely be more vigilant when it comes to these games, even if they are older properties.

the story is about how “the gods” are “evil” and that the Virtuous warriors hunting vampires are actually unwittingly feeding people to demon monsters that will “destroy the universe” unless vampires (lead by “the ultimate savior” cain) “save” everyone by damning souls and and drinking blood to increase the “darkness” of the world.
Thanks for the warning. I know there was something fishy with the themes and the story, but I couldn't quite grasp it. I'll definitely be more discerning in the future.
