Jonathan Frakes has joined what increasingly looks like a coordinated blame campaign against Star Trek fans, citing “trolls” as a contributing factor in Starfleet Academy’s cancellation while simultaneously lamenting that no Trek is currently in production, a claim that CinemaCon 2026 directly contradicts.
So I guess it's time to change the dictionary definition of trolls to: honest people with honest opinions who vocally oppose slop and garbage in all areas of entertainment.
This is not surprising. Kurtzman and his ilk has destroyed continuity in the whole Star Trek Universe, especially making Michael Barnum as Spock’s adoptive sister, and adding extreme Woke ideology into the mix. Hopefully the new management will “right the ship” as it were! No pun intended.
How can a couple of insignificant trolls, who live in their mothers' basements and who will never know the loving touch of a woman, have the collective power to wipe out a 60 year old IP owned by a multibillion dollar entertainment mega company?
Surely the trolls must be too busy reheating yesterday's pizza rolls and sniffing OF girls' stream-worn undergarments to wield the phenomenal cultural and marketing power their Gods Rogan and Peterson entrusted them with?
I like some of the shows out of the Kurtzman era, but generally those that he made little to no creative decisions, ie SNW, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Picard S3. The rest is trash. I like the Abrams films, but they were like a Star Trek pinball machine, noise and lights with a "Star Trek" label, and they've run their course. Kurtzman's era is done and the fans have spoken on his dream projects. The actors should consider showing more respect to the fans, especially Frakes, since his current meal ticket is going away.
