Back then, playing a trans was silly and comedic. The 80s we're about accepting but never insisting. Not to say it wasn't a stepping stone for what's going on today. But the culture back then was way more tolerant of wackiness and oddballs. Christianity was super 'nice' and naive. Today... Christians are much better at spotting the sin... and the Left has to become more radical. We are def being sorted today! God waits!

The World According to Garp is one of the most degenerate films ever made, and Lithgow has been sowing this evil wind for decades.

Why remake Harry Potter at all? Reckon it is just another cash grab. How about making something original or finding another mediocre book series to turn into film?
