George Lucas reiterated he’s moved past Star Wars after selling Lucasfilm to The Walt Disney Company over a decade ago. This Substack is reader-supported.
I don't believe Lucas. How could anyone in that same situation truly move past it? More like he's come to terms with the situation, accepting he can not change/fix what Disney has broken but he's not moved past it. The guy has billions tied up in Disney stock so he has a vested interest in Disney's success and thus limiting his criticisms of it.
The original trilogy was solid. Everything else is mediocre or flat out awful. Mr. Lucas can sit back, collect his money and ignore what Disney does while he builds museums or whatever else catches his fancy. It appears that Star Wars matters not to him anymore.
We got that when you sold it.
(Disney gave it their vision) Lucas: "That's what happens."
LOL
Disney: disease, death

My favorite Star Wars episode is Attack of the Clones
