Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, the developer of the Borderlands franchise, said that real fans of the Borderlands franchise will find a way to pay $80 if that is what the game will retail for. This Substack is reader-supported.
Guys/Gals - This was inevitable. It is unrealistic to expect game prices to NEVER go up when everything else does. That said we have every right to expect value for that $80 but it's not realistic to expect them to forever remain $60.
If some gamers could control themselves they should wait and wait and wait until the publishers start lowering the price because it isn't selling. Maybe then they would get the message. I could afford $80. for a game but I don't plan on buying it, #1 Because the last game was crap and #2 the new game looks like crap as well, and #3 Pitchford is a douche!
Doom just suffered a subpar launch at least partly because of the price tag. Devs and publishers are quickly going to find out that their aging franchises not named "GTA" (or published by Nintendo) aren't going to sell the way they think at that price.
Pitchford continues to be a piece of shit. This is how he views customers - as paypigs.
Borderlands 2 was so over the top anti-white that I didn't buy BL3. I told my son 3 would be worse than 2 and he bought it anyway.
He told me later I was right.
Weren't they banning accounts if anyone "misgendered" one of the characters?
NO THANKS. Not buying.
Suckit.

So like a junkie?
He talks like an average early 90s drug dealer. "If my product is out there, they will find the money. Car stereos, handbags, cash registers..."
I enjoyed the first two games, but the blasphemous cover art for Borderlands 3 soured me on the series entirely. Sounds like I’m not missing much!
What is he implying? Are they gonna steal ? sell their body? Get in more debt?

Maybe. BL3 was a let down form Bl2 but it was still a lot better than teh movie and still a good value for the $$ over all.
