She wasn't threatening to sue over the general posting of comments. She was talking about the fact that the person who posted this information had signed a confidentiality clause for the arc she had entrusted them with. From my understanding, she sent out the wrong copy, not the final version. She's been writing novels since long before AI became a thing. She's got a brilliant mind, and she is an editor, but rather than sending her edits out, she did them herself in that instance.
"While most would agree there’s nothing wrong with running your text through AI for suggestions on edits..." would most of us agree, though? Editing is at least half of writing.
I agree that a large part of writing is editing, but that does not mean massive modification to the overall story. I wrote 10 drafts on my last book without any AI. At least 80% of the story was still the same. The scenes didn't change. The rest was strengthening word choice and more about cutting content than actually adding.
You'll never have to worry about AI prompts in your stories if you write your own books.
