In fandom culture, there’s been an increasing push to have BIPOC or LGBTQ-only spaces that are simply meant to exclude straight, white males from gathering more than anything else. They do so in the name of “inclusivity” and “diversity,” but the result is anything but. Now, the mainstream media is celebrating a new convention in Washington, D.C. that’s eye-opening.
