Comic book fans have endured a decade of character assassinations and ideological subversion as publishers increasingly prioritize political messaging over storytelling, especially when it comes to mainstream comics.
Hipsters getting into comics was the single worst thing to happen to comics. When Jason Aaron, Brian K. Vaughn, Matt Fraction and others came into it without any love or history with these franchises, it was over. All of these people were hyper progressive activists that should have stayed in indie comics indefinitely. They had no business being in mainstream comics. It’s the same when they got the people they do now for movies that should have been in indie movies for the rest of their careers.
